Roofs on Wings
Every financial quarter, Surf & Turf Roofing hosts a sweepstakes, Roofs on Wings, where the company provides a free roof for a community member in need. They began this promotion in 2017 to give back to the community in the best way they knew how – providing a roof over their heads.
Working in the roofing industry for over 10 years, owners Guy Salani and Kyle Scott noticed how financially difficult it was for some people to replace their roofs. The roof is the first defense for a home against the forces of nature, and any damage could be costly both outside the home and inside.
“We feel obligated to give back to our community, after all, it takes a community to help raise a family just as it takes a community to help grow a business. This business is our family and we feel obligated to give back to the community that has been so good to our family.” said Guy Salani.
How the contest works is people can either nominate their friends, family, or neighbors, or they can nominate themselves for a free, new roof. This year’s winner, the Leone’s, will have their roof installed at the end of July. Mr. Leone is a retired volunteer firefighter.
When the Somers Point Volunteer Fire Company heard about the Roof on Wings project, they wanted to help their fellow firefighter in need and volunteered to help with the installation of the roof. When replacing a roof, it is important to maintain the yard and surrounding objects, so the volunteers will be mowing the lawn and helping with any cleanup after the project.
The Leone’s project will be complete on July 23.
Surf and Turf Roofing is grateful to be able to provide a new roof for those who need it within their community.
